Overcoming PCOS: Journey to Parenthood

After four years of trying to conceive, my husband and I faced monthly disappointment. Initially, I attributed my irregular menstrual cycles to work-related stress. But after a follicular cycle study revealed a cyst, everything changed. Finally, the puzzle that had eluded us for so long had a clue.

During discussions with my doctor, signs I had overlooked—excessive hair growth, severe acne, prolonged menstrual cycles—pointed to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). It was a relief to know the issue, though the road ahead seemed daunting. My doctor warned me it could take years to address and the Gynaecologist mentioned that only medicine will not help, other lifestyle changes are mandatory.

Determined, I embraced natural treatments for PCOS: dietary adjustments, exercise, stress management, and herbal supplements. Prioritizing whole foods and reducing refined carbs and sugars became my mantra. Yoga and Pilates helped manage stress, while herbal supplements supported hormone regulation.

With patience and perseverance, I focused on achieving a healthy weight, knowing it could alleviate symptoms. Mindfulness practices and adequate sleep became non-negotiable. Despite uncertainties, I remained hopeful.

Six months after the cyst detection, I received the news I had been longing for: I was pregnant. It was a testament to the changes I had made. By addressing PCOS holistically, I not only enhanced my chances of conception but also cultivated a healthier, more balanced lifestyle
